Message from the Chapter President

Greetings to my fellow members of the Professional Chefs Organization of Houston.

I am excited and proud to be your president. Most of you, I can say, I know but as we move forward I hope to know all of our members. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve. I would like to officially welcome the board members and our chair members.

With all of there talents I intend to help build and sustain a great chapter. Perhaps be a model by which other chapters think and operate.

I have been a member of the ACF for over 20 years in some capacity. Before I moved from St Louis Missouri I was Vice President of that chapter. It obviously did not start that way. I went through most of the chair positions before I became a board member.

My thoughts about serving are simple. I want to focus on PCAH being a social organizational hub with our members but also to include people that are not necessarily involved with our chapter and may never had the opportunity to experience our talents or experiences. We can’t expect participation with out involvement at some level. Those that are on the board have served this organization before. I am looking to experience your talents and knowledge as members and part of who we are as a professional chefs group. That includes Sous Chefs and Cooks alike.

Thanks to Chef Peter Laufer we are currently overhauling the website. We want it to be user friendly as a tool for PCAH members. We also are beginning a relationship with Harris Counties “School Lunch Program”. This program provides meals to lower income children and teenagers during the summer months when school is out. Most lower income parents are not even aware of its existence.

As an ACF Chapter I have always felt the most important asset is socials. A place where we as Chefs can break bread together. Our Social calendar is filling up nicely right now and with the dedication of Chef Lance Warren, Ines Grevel and Chef Peter Laufer we will be continuing a steady flow of “Food Experiences”

Once again thank you for the opportunity to serve as your new president.

Yours in Cooking,

Craig Meyer C.E.C
